ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Silent Generation

The Silent Generation is a group of people born between 1925 and 1945. They are called the Silent Generation because they experienced a period of silence and lack of protest during their childhood and young adult years. They grew up during the Great Depression and World War II, which led to a feeling of caution and a reluctance to express opinions. Unlike other generations before them, they did not choose to be involved in large-scale social or political movements. Instead, they chose to focus on building successful careers, families and communities in a quiet, behind-the-scenes fashion. They were not afraid of hard work and often put their families first. This generation is also known for their loyalty, respect for authority and strict work ethic.
