Silver coins of the German Empire

So, a long time ago, there was a big group of little places called Germany. And they all decided to come together and make one big country called the German Empire.

When they did this, they decided to make their own money that looked a certain way. They made coins out of a shiny metal called silver. These coins had the picture of the leader of the German Empire, called the Kaiser, on them.

People used these coins to buy things they needed, like food and clothes. The more silver a coin had in it, the more it was worth. This meant that if you had a lot of silver coins, you could buy lots of things!

But, eventually, the German Empire wasn't around anymore, so they stopped making these coins. Now, they are special and some people collect them because they are pretty and remind them of a time when Germany was different than it is now.
