Skimming (reading)

Skimming is when you look at a book, article, or magazine really fast and just try to get a general idea of what it's about. It's like when you look at the pictures in a book to see if you want to read it or not. You don't read every word, but you look at the important parts like the titles, the headings, and the bold words. Skimming helps you save time because you don't have to read everything word for word.
