Slave ship

A slave ship was a type of boat used in the past to transport people who were taken from their homes and then sold into slavery. Slavery is when people take away the freedom of other people and force them to do work that they do not want to do. People were captured and put on the slave ships and taken to different places where they were sold to people who wanted them to work for them. The journey on the slave ship was very long, crowded and uncomfortable. Food and water were scarce, and many of the people were sick. Some people even died on the trip. The people living on the ship were treated like animals and were not allowed to do anything to help themselves or each other. Slavery is no longer allowed in very many places, so these ships are no longer used.
