ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Slow journalism

Slow journalism is like reading a very long storybook that tells you all the details about a certain topic, but you need to read it slowly and carefully to understand everything.

It's like when your mommy tells you a bedtime story, and she takes her time in telling it to you so you can picture it in your head and understand it completely. Slow journalism does the same, but instead of a story, it tells you about what is happening in the world, like news and events.

Slow journalism is different from regular newspaper articles because it goes more in-depth, explores all sides of a story, and takes more time to research and report. It's like taking a very close look at a picture to understand all the little details.

Sometimes when we read news quickly, we don't have time to think and understand everything that's happening. But with slow journalism, we have time to understand what's going on, what people are saying, and what's important.

So slow journalism is like a bedtime story for grown-ups who want to know all the details and understand everything about the news.
