Smoke (donkey)

Okay kiddo, so you know how when you light a fire, it creates smoke? Well, sometimes people do a silly thing where they put a blanket or piece of cloth over something burning, like a fire or embers, to trap the smoke underneath. This makes the smoke get really thick and hard to see through - kind of like a fog.

Now here's where the donkey part comes in. A long time ago, some people in certain countries used to tie a donkey's nose to the blanket so it couldn't get away. This is really mean and not nice to the donkey at all! But people used to do it because they believed that breathing in the smoke would give the donkey some kind of special powers to protect it from diseases or bad luck.

Luckily, people don't really do this anymore because it's not nice to animals and it doesn't actually help protect them. So remember, it's never okay to treat animals poorly even if people in the past thought it was okay.
