ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Social psychology

Social Psychology is the study of how people behave in groups and how they are influenced by the groups they are part of. It looks at how different groups can affect people’s thoughts, feelings, and actions. For example, if there is a group of people around you at a party who are all having a good time and laughing, you might feel more comfortable and enjoy yourself more. Or if you’re shopping and you see a lot of people buying something, you may be more likely to buy it too. Social psychology helps us understand how and why people act the way they do when in groups.
