ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Social psychology (sociology)

Social psychology is the study of how people act and think in social situations. It looks at how our thoughts, feelings, and behavior are affected by the people around us. For example, if you are in a group of people who are all being friendly to each other, you may start to feel more comfortable and friendly too. Or, if you are in a group of people who are all being rude, you may start to get angry or frustrated. Social psychology helps us understand why different situations can have different effects on us.
