Socialism in the United States

Socialism is an idea that says everyone should work together to help each other out. In the United States, there are some people who believe that the government should make sure that everyone has what they need to live a good life, like food, shelter, and healthcare. They believe that everyone should have equal opportunities, no matter how much money their family has or where they were born.

Some people think that the way to do this is to have the government own and control things like factories, farms, and stores. They believe that if no one person or company owns everything, then there can be more equality and fair distribution of resources.
