Soil test

Soil is like dirt that plants grow in. If you want to grow a plant, you need to make sure the soil is healthy so the plant can grow strong and healthy too.

To check how healthy the soil is, you do something called a soil test. Think of it like going to the doctor to get a check-up. The doctor checks how healthy we are and tells us what we need to do to get better if there is anything wrong.

For a soil test, you take a sample of the soil and send it to a special lab. The lab looks at the soil and measures things like how much nutrients and minerals there are in it, how acidic or alkaline it is, and what kind of microbes are living in it.

Just like how we need a balanced diet to be healthy, plants also need certain things in the soil to grow well. The soil test can tell us if the soil has the right balance of nutrients and minerals for the plants we want to grow. If it doesn't, we can add things to the soil to fix it before we put the plants in.

So, to buy the correct things for your garden, it's good to know exactly what your soil needs. That's why doing a soil test is really important. It helps you give the right things to the soil so your plants can grow big, strong, and healthy.
