Solar power in the United States

Solar power is energy from the sun. In the United States, people can use solar power to generate electricity that can then be used to power things like homes, schools, businesses and more.

Solar power works by collecting the sun's energy and turning it into electricity. This is done with solar panels that are placed on roofs or on the ground in the sun. The solar panels are made up of many small solar cells that capture the sun's energy and turn it into electricity. This electricity then travels through wires to the home, school or business where it can be used to power lights and other things that run on electricity.

Using solar power is a good way to reduce our reliance on electricity from coal, oil and natural gas which are all non-renewable resources and are bad for the environment. By using solar power, people can do their part to keep the planet healthy for many years to come.
