ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Solid figure

A solid figure is like a toy that you can hold in your hands, it's not flat like a piece of paper. This toy has sides that connect to make a shape, just like the sides of a cardboard box you might use to move things.

But unlike a cardboard box which is not see-through, this toy is transparent, so you can see all the sides and what's inside it. Think of a clear plastic box - this toy is similar to that!

Now, imagine you have different shapes you can use to build your toy. For example, you might have cube shapes that have six equal square sides or a sphere shape that's like a ball.

Once you pick your shape, you can put them together like building blocks to make your solid figure. It can be any shape or size depending on how many blocks you use.

So if you put six cubes together, you would have built a cube-shaped solid figure. If you put circles together, you would make a sphere-shaped solid figure.

And just like with regular building blocks, you can change the color or size of the blocks to make your solid figure more unique and interesting!
