Souliotes

Souliotes were a group of people who used to live in a place called Souli in Greece a very long time ago. They were very brave and fought for their freedom against the Ottoman Turk rulers who were in charge of Greece at the time. The Souliotes were very proud of their culture and their way of life and refused to give up their freedom. They were very tough and were able to hold off lots of attacks from the Ottoman Turks for many years. They were able to do this by using their knowledge of the land and by being really sneaky! Sadly, the Souliotes were eventually defeated and forced to leave Souli. Today, they are remembered as heroes in Greece and are still celebrated for their bravery and determination.
