ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Southern Levant

The Southern Levant is a geographic region in the Middle East that includes parts of countries like Israel, Lebanon, Jordan, and Syria. It is a place with a lot of history and many different peoples have lived there throughout time.

Think of the Southern Levant like a big playground with different sections. Each section is kind of like an area in the Levant where different groups of people lived. Some of the groups included the Canaanites, Israelites, and Philistines.

This playground has seen a lot of important events happen. For example, the Bible tells us that the Israelites traveled through the Southern Levant to get to the land of Canaan. The Southern Levant has also been a place of migration, with many different peoples moving in and out of the region over the years.

Despite all the changes that have happened, people today still live in the Southern Levant and it remains an important part of the world.
