ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Sovereign democracy

Sovereign democracy is when a group of people have the right to govern themselves and make laws according to their own beliefs and rules. It is also sometimes referred to as self-rule. This means that the people in the group get to decide what rules apply to them and how to enforce those rules. They also have to respect the rights of the people in other countries and follow the laws set out by their own government.
