Space-based solar power

Space-based solar power is a way to capture energy from the Sun and turn that energy into electricity that can be used on Earth. To explain how it works, let's start with how we get electricity on Earth. We usually get electricity from power plants that make electricity by burning coal or oil, but this isn't very good for the environment. Space-based solar power is different because it captures energy from the Sun, which is the most powerful source of energy available. It works like this: first, large squares of metal are put into orbit around the Earth. The metal collects energy from the Sun and sends it back to Earth. On Earth, that energy is converted into electricity and sent to our homes and businesses. The best part is, space-based solar power is clean and renewable – it doesn't create any pollution or use any non-renewable energy sources, like coal or oil.
