Spherical harmonic

Spherical harmonic is like a shape that you can draw with a bouncy ball on flat ground. It's made of curves and circles that come together, like a picture in the sand, but in three dimensions instead of two. When you bounce your ball you can make lots of different shapes, but if you make a spherical harmonic, you've created a shape that's found all over nature, like the patterns of the stars in the sky.
