Spiling

Spiling is a way of marking where something needs to be cut or shaped. Imagine you are building a really cool fort made out of sticks. But some of the sticks are too big or too long and need to be cut so they fit better. Spiling helps you know exactly where to cut the sticks so they fit perfectly.

To do spiling, you first take a piece of paper or cardboard and lay it over the place where the stick needs to be cut or shaped. Then you use a pencil to trace the shape or size of the stick onto the paper. This creates a template or pattern that you can use to cut the stick or shape it to fit perfectly.

So in short, spiling is like making a map for how to cut or shape things so they fit just right.
