ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Spinning (motorsport)

Spinning in motorsport means when a car loses control and starts to turn around and around very quickly. It's like when you spin around yourself really fast and you feel dizzy afterwards.

When a driver is driving their car really fast, they need to make sure they don't lose control. This means they need to be very careful when turning corners or braking. If they don't do it properly, the car might spin out of control.

Imagine driving a toy car on a track - if you turn the car too sharply, it might turn over or spin out of control. This is what happens to real racing cars too, but much faster and more dangerous.

When a car starts to spin, the driver needs to try and get it back under control as quickly as possible. They might need to turn the steering wheel the other way, or use the brakes carefully. It's like trying to balance on a spinning top - if you can keep it under control, it won't fall over.

Spinning can be very scary for the driver and for anyone watching, but sometimes it happens because the driver is trying to push themselves and their car to go even faster. It's a risk that they take in order to win races and be the best at what they do.
