Spintronics

Spintronics is a type of electronics that uses the spin of particles to store, control, and transfer information. Spin is a property that every particle in the universe has - it's like an invisible arrow that's pointing either up or down. When the spin of a particle is in the "up" direction, it can be like turning on a light switch so an electronic circuit can do something. When the spin is in the "down" direction, it can turn off the light switch so the electronic circuit can't do anything. Spintronics uses these spinning particles to store and control information in a very fast and efficient way.
