Splash lubrication

Splash lubrication is a way of keeping things that move together well-oiled. It's like putting oil in a pool; the pool (or oil) is an 'oily pool' that sits below the moving parts. As the parts move, they splash the oil around them, and it keeps them moving smoothly. This is different from other lubrication methods because it's always ready and you don't need any special equipment. It's also usually cheaper than other types of lubrication.
