ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Splinted armour

Okay kiddo, do you remember when we played with Legos and built a wall out of a bunch of blocks? Well, imagine that each block is a little piece of armor that someone wears to protect themselves.

Now, sometimes people want to put these blocks together in a way that makes them even stronger, because one block alone might not be enough to stop a big hit. That's where splinted armor comes in!

Splinted armor is like putting two or more blocks together with something called a splint. A splint is kind of like a bridge that connects two or more blocks, making them stronger together.

So, if someone has a bunch of armor blocks on their arm, for example, they might use a splint to connect them all together. That way, if something hits their arm really hard, the force is spread out across all the blocks and it's less likely to hurt them.

Think of it like a team of superheroes. One superhero can do a lot, but when they work together with their friends, they can do even more! Splinted armor is like the superheroes teaming up to protect someone's body.

Does that make sense, kiddo?
