ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Squat (exercise)

Squatting is kind of like pretending you're sitting in a chair, but the chair isn't there! To start, you stand up straight with your feet about shoulder-width apart. Then, stick your bottom out behind you and bend your knees, like you're trying to sit down on an invisible chair.

Make sure to keep your chest up and your head looking straight ahead. Squat down as low as you can without your knees going past your toes or your bottom touching the ground.

To stand back up, push through your heels and use your leg muscles to lift your body back up to the starting position. Squats can be a bit tricky to get right, but they're a great way to build strong leg and glute muscles. Remember to always ask an adult for help or supervision when doing this exercise!
