Squib (explosive)

Okay kiddo, have you ever seen fireworks or heard a loud bang in a movie? Well, those are kind of like a squib!

A squib is a special type of firework that is used in movies, TV shows, and theater productions to make it look like someone is getting shot or hit by something. It's like a tiny explosion that's controlled by special effects experts.

These squibs are made up of a small amount of explosive material, like gunpowder, that's packed into a small device. This device is then placed on the actor's body, usually on their clothes, and connected to a wire that's controlled by the special effects team.

When it's time for the actor to get "shot," the special effects team will push a button, which sends an electric signal through the wire and sets off the squib. This causes a small explosion that makes it look like the actor got hit by a bullet or something else.

Even though they're called explosives, squibs are actually very safe because they're used in a controlled environment by trained professionals. Plus, they're only used for special effects purposes, so you won't see them in everyday situations.
