ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Stable polynomial

A stable polynomial is a type of mathematical equation which has a certain set of properties. These properties are related to the way that the polynomial behaves when the numbers in it are changed. Specifically, the polynomial stays the same even when the numbers in it are changed.

Think of a polynomial like a very tall tower made out of different-sized building blocks. If someone took one of the building blocks away, the tower might change shape a little but it would still be the same tower. A stable polynomial is like that tower, where the shape stays the same even when the building blocks (numbers) are changed.
