Stereonet

A stereonet is like a special toy that lets you look at rocks and see their shapes and positions. Imagine you have a ball and you draw a circle around it. That circle is the equator of the ball. Now imagine you draw another circle around the ball that goes from the north pole to the south pole. That circle is like the prime meridian on a globe.

A stereonet is like a special way of putting those circles onto a piece of paper, so you can look at it sideways and still see the ball. This helps you figure out what the rocks look like from different angles. So when you look at a rock on the ground, you can use the stereonet to figure out what it would look like if you saw it from above or from the side. It helps you understand the shape and position of the rock better!
