Stopper knot

Hey kiddo, do you know what a stopper knot is? It's basically a knot that you tie at the end of a rope to keep it from slipping through your hands or through a pulley or something like that.

Let me show you how to tie one! Imagine this is your rope. First, make a loop at the end of the rope -- that's just where you grab onto it. Now, take the loose end of the rope and wrap it around the loop two or three times.

Next, take the loose end of the rope through the loop, between the loop and the wraps you've just made. Give it a little tug to make sure it's snug, and voila! You've tied a stopper knot.

Now if you're climbing a tree or hauling up a bucket of water or anything like that, you don't have to worry about the rope slipping through your fingers or the pulley. The stopper knot will keep everything secure. Cool, huh?
