ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Story-driven modeling

Story-driven modeling is when we try to understand and explain how something works by creating a story about it. Imagine you have a toy car and you want to explain how it moves. Instead of just saying, "The wheels turn and the car moves," you could create a story.

For example, let's say your toy car is a superhero who needs to rescue a cat stuck in a tree. The superhero car turns on its magical engine, which is powered by imagination. The wheels start to spin, and the car rushes down the street, dodging obstacles and speeding through red lights. Finally, the superhero car arrives at the tree, where the cat is stuck. The car transforms into a ladder and the cat can climb down safely.

By telling this story, we are not only explaining how the toy car works, but we are also making it more interesting and engaging. This technique can be applied to more complicated situations, like explaining how a machine works or how a business operates. By using a story to explain these concepts, we make them easier to understand and remember.
