Stretham Old Engine

Hi there! So, have you ever seen a car or a train that runs on an engine? Well, the Stretham Old Engine is kind of like that, but it's really old and not used anymore.

The Stretham Old Engine was a special kind of machine that was used a long time ago to power a very important thing called a water pump. You know what a pump is, right? It's like a machine that sucks up water and pushes it somewhere else.

Now, the Stretham Old Engine was different because it was powered by something called steam. Have you ever seen water boil in a pot on the stove? Well, that steam that comes out is really powerful and can be used to make machines move.

So, people would take water and heat it up to make steam, and then use that steam to power the Stretham Old Engine. The engine would then turn gears and wheels to work the water pump, which was really important back then because people needed water for all sorts of things like drinking, cooking, and washing.

But now, the Stretham Old Engine is no longer used because we have newer and better machines that work even more efficiently. But it's still important to remember the history of how machines have helped us in the past!
