ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Sub-brown dwarf

A sub-brown dwarf is like a baby star that never grew up enough to become a full grown-up star. Imagine a star as a big balloon that is so hot and bright, it glows in the dark. A sub-brown dwarf is like a smaller balloon that is not as hot or as bright, but it still glows a little bit.

Sub-brown dwarfs are very hard to see because they are very small and not very bright. Scientists use special telescopes to study them. They are often found orbiting bigger stars, like planets. Sub-brown dwarfs are very interesting because they can teach us about the formation of our solar system and other solar systems in the universe.
