Sugars in wine

Sugars in wine are like the sweet things you eat, like candy or cookies. Except they are found in juice from grapes that's been fermented, or turned into alcohol. Wine is made when yeast eats the sugar in grape juice and turns it into alcohol. Some of the sugar gets left behind, making the wine taste a little sweet. The more sugar that's left, the sweeter the wine tastes. So, when you drink wine, it can taste sweet or not-so-sweet depending on how much sugar was left behind.
