ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Superadditive

Okay kiddo, superadditive is a big word but it's not too hard to understand. It means that when you combine things together, you get more than if you had each thing separately.

For example, imagine you have one cookie and your friend has one cookie. If you both eat your cookies separately, you have only had one cookie each. But if you share your cookies and put them together, you have two cookies! That's superadditive because when you combine the cookies, you get more than if you had them separately.

Another example is when you have two balls. If you roll them separately, they will travel a certain distance. But if you roll them together, they might travel even farther! That's superadditive too because when you combine the two balls, they travel more distance than if they were rolled separately.

So you see, superadditive means that when you put things together, you get more than if you had them separately. It's kind of like teamwork - when you work together with someone else, you can accomplish more than if you were working alone.
