Symbolic interactionism

Symbolic interactionism is a way of understanding how people interact and behave. It means that people create their own meanings and understandings based on their experiences, beliefs and symbols they use. For example, when you do a high five with your friend it is a symbol that you are excited and that you have a strong connection. This symbol has different meanings to different people. Symbolic interactionism helps us understand how people make sense of their worlds and how they interact with each other.
