Synthesis of precious metals

Hey kiddo! You know how we have different types of metals like gold, silver, copper, etc.? Well, some of these metals like gold and silver are very expensive and valuable.

People have been trying to make these expensive metals in a lab for a long time, but it's really difficult and expensive to do.

Scientists have found a way to make gold and other precious metals through a process called nuclear transmutation.

Basically, they take a cheaper metal like lead and shoot tiny particles called "neutrons" at it to change its atomic structure. When the lead atoms absorb these neutrons, they turn into different atoms like gold or platinum.

This process is quite expensive and not very efficient. It requires a lot of energy and precise equipment to make even a tiny bit of precious metal.

However, scientists are still working hard to make this process more efficient and find other ways to synthesize precious metals. Who knows, maybe one day we'll be able to make gold as easily as we make cookies!
