ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

System on module

System on Module (SOM) is like a computer brain or a tiny computer. It is like having a computer inside a box. It is a smaller, self-contained computer that has processing, memory, input/output connections, and other components pre-installed and ready to go. It is used in gadgets, toys, and even in industrial projects. It can be used to power anything from a phone to a robotic arm in a factory. SOMs are also faster and more powerful than some regular computers, and they are much smaller, so they can fit into almost any design.
