Tax exemption

Tax exemption means that you don't have to pay taxes on certain things. For example, if you buy something that is tax exempt, like some school supplies, you don't have to pay the extra money (taxes) that you would have to pay if you bought something that wasn't tax exempt. It's like getting a free pass on paying taxes.
