ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Temporal finitism

Temporal finitism is a fancy way of saying that time has a beginning and an end. It's like a book that has a first page and a last page. Just like we can't read the last page of a book before we read the first page, we can't have events happen after the end of time. It's kind of like the timeline of the universe has a "clock" that starts ticking at the beginning of time and stops at the end of time. Scientists and philosophers debate whether time has a beginning and an end or if it is infinite and never-ending.
