The Blue Planet
The blue planet is our home, the Earth! It is called the blue planet because most of its surface is covered with water, and when we look at it from space, it appears blue. Just like you have a house to live in, planet Earth is our home in the universe.
The Earth is big and round like a ball. It spins around and around in space, and it takes 24 hours to complete one full spin. This is why we have day and night. When the Earth spins, part of it faces the sun, and that's when we have daylight. When it's not facing the sun, we have darkness or night-time.
The Earth also goes around the sun once every year. It's not a perfect circle; it's more like an oval. This means that sometimes we are closer to the sun, and sometimes we are farther away. That's why we have different seasons like summer, winter, spring, and fall.
The Earth has lots of different parts like oceans, mountains, deserts, forests, and cities. Animals and plants live on it, just like we do. We need to take good care of the Earth and keep it clean and healthy so that we can continue to call it our home for a long time.
