ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

The Championship Course

The championship course is like a really special kind of playground for grown-ups who like to play a game called golf. The course is a big area of land with lots of green grass and a bunch of little hills and bumps. The main goal of golf is to hit a small ball with a special stick (called a golf club) and try to get the ball into a little hole in the ground, which is usually pretty far away.

The championship course is different from other golf courses because it's where really important golf tournaments happen. These tournaments are like big competitions where lots of really good golfers from all over the world come to play against each other. The course needs to be really, really hard because the golfers are really, really good. It's like playing against the best kids in your school, but 100 times harder.

To make the course hard, the people who take care of the course sometimes make the grass really long, so it's harder to hit the ball far enough. They also make the bunkers (little sandy holes you don't want to land in because it's hard to get the ball out) really big and tricky. Plus, there are special areas called water hazards, which are like big pools of water that you really don't want to hit your ball into, or else you lose your turn.

Overall, the championship course is like playing golf on the hardest level there is. But if you can handle it, it can also be really fun and exciting to try to beat all the other really good golfers and win a big trophy!
