The Edwardian Country House

Okay, so imagine you live in a really big house in the countryside with your whole family. This house is called an Edwardian country house because it was built during a time when King Edward VII was the king of England.

Edwardian country houses were usually owned by very rich families who wanted a fancy place to live away from the busy city. These houses were HUGE and had lots of rooms like bedrooms, sitting rooms, dining rooms, and even ballrooms where people could dance.

The inside of the house was decorated with fancy furniture, paintings, and beautiful carpets. There were also big windows that let in lots of light and gave you a good view of the huge garden outside.

Living in an Edwardian country house wasn't just for the family though. There were also lots of servants who lived and worked there too. These were people who helped cook, clean, and take care of the house and the family.

Overall, an Edwardian country house was like a big palace for a family who had a lot of money. It was a beautiful and comfortable place to live, but it took a lot of work to keep it that way!
