The Phantom Tollbooth

The Phantom Tollbooth is a book about a kid named Milo who is bored and doesn't think anything is fun. He gets a package one day with a tollbooth inside and when he puts a coin in it he is taken to a magical world called The Lands Beyond. He meets a bunch of interesting characters on his journey, like a talking dog and a ticking watchdog, and has lots of adventures trying to solve puzzles and find new lands. He eventually discovers that the only way to get back home is to find two important kingdoms, Wisdom and Joy. He takes on this challenge and eventually makes it home safely. The story is fun and teaches kids about being creative and that there can be interesting things to explore even in the most boring of places.
