Thermal time constant

Thermal time constant is about how quickly something warms up. It's kind of like how long it takes to heat up food in the microwave. When something has a high thermal time constant, it takes a long time to heat up. But if it has a low thermal time constant, it doesn't take long to heat up. Thermal time constant also applies to things like electronics, where they might take a while to warm up when you first turn them on.
