ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Thing (assembly)

Ok kiddo, you know how sometimes you have a bunch of Legos and you can build something really cool with them? Well, adults do something similar when they have to make something bigger and more complicated. They use special computer programs to design different parts of that bigger thing and how they will all fit together.

When they finish designing all the pieces, they take them and put them together in a specific order to make the bigger thing. This process of putting all the pieces together is called "assembly".

So, imagine you have a lot of little Lego pieces, like wheels, windows, doors, and different shapes. You can take all these pieces and build a car, right? Well, that's exactly what adults do with their designs, using different materials like metal, plastic or glass for example.

And when they finish assembling all the pieces together, they have created something awesome, like a car, a plane, or even a spaceship! That's the magic of assembly, kiddo.
