Tied arch bridge

A tied arch bridge is like a big, sturdy, metal ribbon that goes over a river or a valley. Imagine you are playing with a big rubber band, and you put a stick through the middle of it to hold it in place. That's kind of like how a tied arch bridge works.

The main part of the bridge is made of metal arches that are bent into a curved shape. They look like big rainbows that you can walk on. But the important thing is that the arches are not straight, they are curved.

To keep the bridge from falling down, there are cables that go from the top of one arch to the bottom of the other arch. These cables are like really strong ropes that hold up the bridge. They pull on the arches so that they don't tip over or collapse.

The reason it's called a "tied" arch bridge is because of the way the cables are attached to the arches. They are tied to the arches at specific points to make sure everything stays in place.

And that's what a tied arch bridge is! It's a strong and safe way to cross rivers or valleys, that uses metal arches and cables to stay up.
