ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Time on target

Hi there! Do you know what "time on target" means? It's a term mostly used in the military when they plan to attack a target.

Let me explain it to you like you are 5 years old:

Imagine you're playing your favorite game and there's a bad guy to defeat. You want to make sure you hit the bad guy right on time so he doesn't have the chance to defend himself or harm anyone else. This is exactly what "time on target" means.

In simpler words, it's a strategy used in the military to plan an attack in such a way that all the forces hit the target at the same time, so the enemy doesn't have time to prepare or defend themselves. They do this by making sure everyone involved in the attack plans their moves and actions carefully, so they all hit the target at the same time.

Just like how you and your teammates might plan out how each player will move and attack during your game to defeat the bad guy as quickly as possible.

So, that's what "time on target" means in the military, hitting the target at the right time with all forces working together.
