Timeline of Moncton history

Ok buddy, Let me explain to you the timeline of Moncton's history like you're five years old!

Long long ago, before you were born, Moncton was a forest, with no buildings or houses. It was a beautiful place with lots of animals and trees. Then, some people called the Mi'kmaq came and lived here. They were the first people who lived here long ago.

In 1676, the first European named Michel Leneuf de La Vallière arrived near Moncton. Then, in 1836, a man named Robert Monckton came and named the area after himself - Moncton. This is how Moncton got its name!

In the 1800s, many people came to Moncton because it was a great place to start a business. Some of these businesses were lumber mills, shipyards, and factories that made clothing. Moncton grew bigger and bigger with more people living here.

In 1900, Moncton became a city, and people started to build more buildings and roads. In 1930, the Moncton Airport was built, so people could fly in and out of Moncton. Then, the Moncton Coliseum was built in 1973, which was used for big events like concerts and hockey games.

In recent years, Moncton has become a modern and busy city with lots of parks, museums, and shopping malls. It is now home to many people from all around the world, and it's a great place to live, work and play!

So, buddy, that's the timeline of Moncton, from a forest to becoming the beautiful city it is now. Pretty cool, huh?
