Tissue engineering

Tissue engineering is a way to use science to grow new tissues and organs. Scientists take cells from your body and grow them on a special structure that gives them the right environment to become new tissues. They mix these cells with other special things like proteins and chemicals to help the cells grow into the right shape. It's like playing with LEGOs - you build the right shape with the right pieces. When the new tissues are ready, surgeons put them into your body to replace old, broken, or missing pieces.
