Tithi

Okay, little one, let's learn about Tithi. Tithi is a special word that means day in Hindi, the language spoken in India. In Hinduism, people follow a calendar to celebrate different festivals and ceremonies. This calendar is called the Hindu calendar.

However, unlike our regular calendar that has months with the same number of days, the Hindu calendar is based on the moon's cycle. This means that each month can have different numbers of days.

To make things easier for us, the Hindu calendar divides each month into 30 parts, which are called tithis. So, each tithi lasts for one day and it starts at different times of the day.

People in India and other parts of the world use tithis to celebrate different festivals and religious ceremonies. For example, one of the most important Hindu festivals called Diwali is celebrated on the 15th tithi of the month of Kartik.

So, in simple terms, Tithi is like a small part of a month that helps people to keep track of important days and festivals in their religion.
