Tonic water

Tonic water is a kind of drink that looks like regular water but tastes a little different. It's called "tonic" because it used to be made with a medicine that helped people feel better when they were sick.

Tonic water is fizzy, which means that it has tiny bubbles in it that tickle your nose when you drink it. It also has another ingredient called quinine, which makes it taste a little bit bitter. Quinine comes from a tree in South America and was used to help people who had a disease called malaria.

Even though we don't use tonic water as medicine anymore, some people still like to drink it. Some people even put it into other drinks, like gin, to make a special kind of cocktail called a gin and tonic.
