Tonkatsu

Tonkatsu is a yummy food that people in Japan like to eat. It's made from meat, usually pork (which comes from pigs), that has been breaded and fried. It's like a special kind of chicken nugget, but with pork instead of chicken!

First, the pork is pounded flat (like using a little hammer to make it thinner) and then coated with flour, eggs, and breadcrumbs (like the crumbs at the bottom of a bag of chips). Next, it's fried in hot oil until it's nice and crispy on the outside, but juicy and tender on the inside.

Some people like to eat tonkatsu with rice, sauce (like barbecue sauce), and cabbage on the side. It's a really popular dish in Japan, and it's so delicious that some people even have it as a special treat on their birthdays!
